From the Pastor – 17 March 2024

Dear brothers and sisters,

· Anyone who loves his life loses it; anyone who hates his life in this world will keep it for the eternal life.” (Jn 12:25)

· Is our intelligence alone enough to know what God is like? No – because using our intelligence alone has many difficulties.  By ourselves, we are unable to enter into the intimacy of the divine mystery. This is why we need God to reveal to us what we don’t understand, and what is truly right and wrong in morality and true or false in faith, so we can know them with ease, certainty and without error even now on earth.

· Our roof is finished! Completion has now been certified.  From Monday the ladder we installed a couple of years ago (at a cost of $20,000) will be reinstalled, with the addition of 2 walkways ensuring no one will ever need to walk on the roof.

· This week we are having an event every night from Tuesday to Friday at 730pm to help us enter into the mystery of Jesus’ cross and suffering for us.  Please come!

· On Palm Sunday at 2pm we are carrying the cross of Jesus from St Peter Chanel to St Joachim’s Lidcombe.  We will have a doctor, first aid and marshalls to assist us.

· Get parish updates from our Facebook or Instagram pages.

· Do you want to discover God as a real person? Do you want to experience God’s presence and love for you personally?  Please sign up to the Alpha Course the parish is offering after Easter.

· Is the confessional soundproof?  We’ve had mixed reports.  Please give feedback to Father so we know whether or not to get tradesmen in.

· Tickets are running out for a place at our parish Bush dance on 29 June.  Please contact the parish secretary to ensure you do not miss out on a place.

Yours in Our Lord,

J+
