{"id":6220,"date":"2022-09-16T11:57:40","date_gmt":"2022-09-16T01:57:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stpeter-stjoseph.org.au\/?p=6220"},"modified":"2022-09-16T11:58:28","modified_gmt":"2022-09-16T01:58:28","slug":"fr-thomas-homily-for-the-25th-sunday-in-ordinary-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stpeter-stjoseph.org.au\/fr-thomas-homily-for-the-25th-sunday-in-ordinary-time\/","title":{"rendered":"Fr Thomas&#8217; Homily for the 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color\" style=\"font-size:24px\"><strong><em>Be Shrewd and Dedicated<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A woman complained, \u201c<em>So and so is harassing me saying that I married him.\u00a0 It is true father I married him to get a visa to Australia.\u00a0 He knows that I have a husband and family back home<\/em>\u201d, she said.\u00a0 Marrying a stranger just to organise a visa to Australia!\u00a0 It shows the extent people go to achieve a goal once it is set in mind.\u00a0 Though the means the woman took is not so noble, one has to appreciate her determination.\u00a0 The moral deficit was born out of the desperation to get out of the misery of her homeland and wanting to establish a secure future for herself.\u00a0 Once that goal is set, she risked everything including her moral reputation to achieve it.\u00a0 Though dishonest, her astuteness is praiseworthy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The story of the dishonest steward who was despised by his master is a similar one (<em>Ref.&nbsp; Lk 16:1-13<\/em>) In spite of the steward undercutting the loan repayments of the debtors to his master, he is praised for his astuteness.
