You will do greater things than Jesus!

Can you do anything greater than what Jesus did? Yes, you can do greater things, if you are a disciple of Jesus. When Jesus was preparing his disciples for his departure from them, he told them, “I tell you solemnly, whoever believes in me will perform the same works as I do myself, he will perform even greater works, because I am going to the Father.” If you believe in Jesus and become a disciple you can do the same things as Jesus did, and more. The collective name for the disciples of Jesus is The Church. Jesus is the way of life for us.

There are many ways of living options offered to us in our world of affluence. But with COVID-19 shut downs some of such ways of life are suspended. Moreover, you are in a way forced to review your way of life from different angles. One could look at life from the angle of prosperity, enjoyment, achievements in life, or fame and dominance. But there is only one way that that these can provide you the real joy. That is the way of life dedicated to service. That is the way of Jesus. That is the truth about life. That is what gives fullness to life. Therefore, said Jesus, “I am the way, the truth and the life.” Jesus’ personal ministry was two thousand years ago and it was limited to the land of Israel. The Church as his disciples is following the way of Jesus and ministering to the whole world. In this mission the Church is doing wonders. When you look at the transformation all over the world as a result of the Church’s ministry you understand the meaning of Jesus’ saying, “You will do greater things”. You become an embodiment of Jesus to live his way of the life of service. Jesus is the embodiment of the Father in heaven. Therefore, you become the embodiment of Jesus to show to the world the true nature of God. Many of the converts to the Church say that they got attracted to Church because they saw extraordinary peace and joy in the lives of the disciples of Jesus they met. You cannot think of a greater reward in life.

The world around us is used to proposing rewards only to those who come first in races and challenges. But when it comes to the rewards for running the race with Jesus as the way, everyone wins. “There are many rooms in my Father’s House,” Jesus said. It is not reserved for the top achievers. God’s reward of joy and peace is for all disciples of Jesus. And you do not want to miss out on it.
